What is Green Planet Dubai
The Green Planet Dubai is an indoor rainforest in the City Walk area, hidden inside a white cube. It is a fully immersive vertical bio-dome that offers visitors a unique opportunity to explore the rich biodiversity. It is a man-made recreation of the Earth’s rainforests, meticulously designed to mimic the conditions of the natural habitats of its residents.
This indoor forest in Dubai is home to over 3,000 species of plants, animals and birds, making it one of the largest and most diverse bio-domes in the world. You will see toucans, parrots, chameleons, lemurs, snakes, lizards, sloths, tortoises and many more.

Tropical dome tiers
The Green Planet Dubai is divided into four main tiers around a gigantic tree, each representing a different level of the rainforest ecosystem: the Canopy, the Midstory, the Forest Floor and the Flooded Forest. Each tier is home to a unique array of plants and animals, offering a different experience for visitors.
Have Fun Dubai’s Tip: I recommend taking a lift and starting your experience from the top of the tree to the bottom. This way you will have a good overview of the park and will have a relaxing walk.
- The Canopy is the highest level of the rainforest in Dubai, a sunlit layer that is home to a diverse range of birds and butterflies. If you dare, you can first walk through a cave full of bats. From the Canopy level, you can witness the incredible biodiversity of the rainforest and enjoy breathtaking views of the entire bio-dome from the Canopy Bridge. You will be surrounded by cheerful cockatoos, toucans and other birds who will pose for your close-up photos.
- The Midstory is the middle layer of the rainforest, a dimly lit realm that is home to many animals who seek refuge from the predators of the forest floor. Here, you’ll see such animals as sloths, armadillos and anteaters. As you walk, you will meet friendly staff members who will offer you to pet some animals.
- The Forest Floor is the lowest level of the rainforest, a dark and humid layer that is home to a diverse range of flora and fauna. Here, you’ll be able to encounter animals like porcupines, reptiles and a plethora of insects. You will see a waterfall and aquatic inhabitants, including frogs and lizards. In addition, if you look closely, you will see weaver ants. They use the silk secreted by the larvae to build nests by fusing living leaves together.

After exploring the rainforest, you can relax and refuel at the Green Planet Cafe. The cafe in front of the garden entrance offers a range of refreshments and snacks, including burgers, pizzas, juices and kids menus.
